Solidarity Volunteering: Strong Relationships, Mutual Development

Returning home

Re-entry group

I realised that I had been given a rare chance to relive and reflect on my time in Uganda during the re-entry weekend – I did not expect to get as much out of it as I did.

Upcoming events

In 2013, we have scheduled Information Sessions, Re-entry workshop, Orientation Course, Palms Encounters, a book launch and our second annual Solidarity Awards.

Re-Entry

Participants at Palms' Re-entry Weekend

During Palms’ Re-entry Weekend, 22nd — 24th May at The Hermitage Mittagong, one of the highlights is the opportunity for returned volunteers to share their stories with people with similar experiences.

Re-Entry: Living cross-culturally presents a mix of emotions.

To our amazement, it has been quite difficult settling back into our culture and Palms, with their wealth of experience and the re-entry programme, have assisted and supported us along this path.”

I expect to pass through this world but once. Any good, therefore, that I can do, or any kindness that I can show to any human being, let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again. - Stephen Krebbet
