Palms Australia has a variety of requests for qualified secondary teachers in many subject areas, including English, ESL, Maths and Science. Teachers in other fields are also sought, as are vocational and primary school teachers and university lecturers.

Specific roles include curriculum development, teacher mentoring, administrative, leadership, mentoring and classroom teaching roles. In many cases there will be a specific local counterpart or counterparts with whom the Palms volunteer will work closely. This is because key aspect of Palms’ mission is skill exchange which will develop the capacity of the requesting school to continue to provide quality education to future students.

Countries which currently have requests for teachers with Palms Australia include Timor-Leste, Kiribati, Papua New Guinea, Tanzania, Sudan, Indonesia and others. The suitability of specific positions can be discussed upon the receipt of a completed application form.

We provide pre-departure preparation, flights, accommodation, a basic living allowance, personal and professional support during placement and re-entry assistance on return home. Applicants will need to attend an orientation course prior to placement.
