News: Round table on volunteering

Mission, Volunteering and Development: Where to for Palms’ next 50 years?

In its Jubilee year, Palms Australia has invited international speakers for itsĀ ROUND TABLE discussion on Sunday 10th July, 11am, Pennant Hills, NSW.

Christina Reymer from Mahitahi Catholic Overseas Volunteers (NZ) and missiologist Jacob Kavunkal S.V.D. will join others (to be announced) to discuss current understandings of the intersection between mission, volunteering and development.

On the concluding day of Palms’ 92nd Orientation Course for its newest group of volunteers, come and hear these speakers and join in the discussion. And stay on for lunch at 12:30!

Return this registration form by Monday 27th June to reserve a place at the Round Table and lunch.

There is both a moral and social responsibility attaching to these experiences of foreign cultures,
and if nothing awakens in our own soul, making claims and demands upon us,
calling us to change the way we live, then we have been merely parasites and invaders. - David Tacey
